Actually, I always look back on my five years at LeRoy's as some of the best of my life. At the home I experienced so many things that I know I would not have had the chance to do where I came from. At LeRoy's I went deep sea fishing, went to the annual Lion's club minstrel show, sold papers every year at the Los Angeles County Fair, went hiking up the hills with Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh and one year we had a booth at a local park carnival.....It was a slingshot booth with different size bottles and prizes. The smaller bottles (perfume type) we had on an old record player turntable going round and round...those were the hard ones!
I think us kids broke more bottles than our customers! One year in a parade in Pomona my pal Alan and I wanted to ride but there were no more bikes. So Uncle Roy came to the rescue and brought his daughters bikes and a couple of their old dresses, plus a sign for our back saying "LeRoy's Boys Hom...
